They wouldn't be able to take the gold down the big hill to the snake anywhere near as easily. So they would have to use a much slower more noticeable course of action.
I believe that they may have to leave what little is left and take what they have to America. This way not everything would be lost. And there is likely that the sldiers wouldn't find out and there would be no punishment for the villagers and the children.
I think the plane will change by the rain melting away the snow. Withe no snow there is no sledding, and no sledding means that they can't sneek the gold to the snake.

They could pull it back by wagons or something with weels.

It would be bad because the Germans would find the gold and take it all. Then Norway would be poor.
