    1. Paratroopers are soldiers trained in parachuting and generally operate as part of an airborne force.
    2. Paratroopers are used for tactical advantage as they can be inserted into the battlefield from the air, thereby allowing them to be positioned in areas not accessible by land. It is one of the three types of "forced entry" strategic techniques for entering a theater of war.
    3. This ability to enter the battle from different locations allows paratroopers to evade fortifications that are in place to prevent attack from a specific direction, and the possible use of paratroopers forces an army to spread their defenses to protect other areas which would normally be safe by virtue of the geography.
    4. In World War II paratroopers most often used parachutes of a round design.
    5. German paratroopers, whose harnesses had only a single riser attached at the back, could not manipulate their parachutes in such a manner.

Paratroopers are soldiers trained in parachuting and generally operate as part of an airborn force.

Paratroopers are used for attacking in places that are not accsible by land, or by attacking positions put in place to prtect a certine area. They can be droped behind those fortifications and attack them.

The Germans extensivly used paratroopers. They called them the Fallschirmjäger.

In WWII they used round chutes. Now most parachutes are rectangular to allow for better control.

German parratroopers (Fallschirmjäger), had no controll over thier chutes as they were straped by one line going to the separet lines atached to the chute.

  6. Facts:
    1. Paratroopers are used to land in areas that planes can't land.
    2. Paratroopers use parachutes to land in areas were their enemies can't sneak up on them, but the paratroopers can sneak up on their enemies.
    3. Paratroopers used to land in places like water, but now they land on land.
    4. Parachutes will most often have to be round so the paratroopers can steer it easier.
    5. To make sure paratroopers land safely into battlefields they have to take many different training classes.
